You Can Now Buy Oppo Phones and Accessories With Just a WhatsApp Text

You Can Now Buy Oppo Phones and Accessories With Just a WhatsApp Text and Have Them Home Delivered - MySmartPriceAfter announcing its own online story less than a month ago, Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is now taking advantage of that store to expand the ways it can reach users. Customers will now be able to buy Oppo’s smartphones and accessories by simply sending the company a text on WhatsApp. For the same, users will need to send a text to +91-9871502777, which includes the name of the state they’re in and their pincode. Doing so will get you a call back from the nearest retail store the company has to you, and you can place your order.

The new initiative is part of Oppo’s strategy to create an omni-channel retail experience, something the company has been doing since the lockdowns last year. Of course, Oppo isn’t the only company that has been building this kind of a retail experience, but it may very well be the first to allow orders to be placed using WhatsApp. The company had also announced extended warranty plans for its products recently. Oppo products with warranties ending on or before June 30th will now be covered till lockdowns are on in various states in the country.

The company had also launched its first e-store in India earlier this month. Oppo announced Rupee 1 flash deals on various products, along with a 1 rupee mystery box for some others. There are also discount offers for credit and debit cards from various banks. Oppo had said, at the time, that WhatsApp orders will be available soon. It’s possible that the new WhatsApp bot was part of the company’s development efforts for the website.

Smartphone makers have been trying to find new ways to reach customers ever since the national lockdowns were announced last year. This year’s second wave of infections has increased the need for companies to reach customers through various means. WhatsApp, websites and other tech enabled methods also allow companies like Oppo to support their offline retail chains. Unlike Xiaomi and Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung and more usually make most of their sales through offline retail stores. That means that the lockdowns can affect their business much more dramatically.
